Platform compatibility
Each version of a package states the versions of the Auditix platform it runs on: a minimum
(Platform from: The oldest platform version it runs on, such as 0.9.0.) and an optional
maximum (Platform up to), both included, written MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH. A platform outside that
range refuses to install the version and says which range it needs.
You set them in the Publish a version dialog. They are prefilled from the previous version
(0.9.0 and later for the first one), and the minimum is raised to what the content needs:
| The content has… | Minimum offered at least |
|---|---|
| Manufacturers only | 0.9.0 |
| Models | 0.11.0 (Models need platform 0.11.0 or later.) |
| SNMP profiles, CLI profiles or profiles (with credentials and variables) | 0.13.0 (Profiles need platform 0.13.0 or later.) |
Older platforms would ignore the parts they do not know; the prefilled minimum avoids offering them an incomplete package.

The maximum cannot be below the minimum (The maximum cannot be below the minimum.).
The range is shown with each version on the package page and in the Versions history. A development build of the platform only warns instead of refusing. See Compatibility in the platform guide.
