Sub-organizations

A sub-organization is a subsidiary, a department or a team inside an organization, for example Example Corp › Example Corp EMEA › Network team. Each has its own members, public page, licences and packages.

Members of an organization have the same rights in all its sub-organizations, with the same role: an administrator of Example Corp is also an administrator of Example Corp EMEA. The sidebar of the Organization application lists the sub-organizations you reach this way, marked Through <organization>.

Packages follow the same tree: a Private package of an organization is seen by the members of that organization and of the organizations above and below it. See Visibility.

You need Manage the sub-organizations in the parent.

  1. Open the parent in Organization, then the Sub-organizations tab.
  2. Select New sub-organization, enter its Name and select Create.
  3. Open it from the list to invite its own members and fill in its public page.

The list shows each sub-organization with its visibility (Public or Private). Sub-organizations nest up to five levels deep (Sub-organizations cannot nest deeper.).

A sub-organization is deleted with the right held in its parent: either from the parent’s Sub-organizations tab, or from the Profile tab of the sub-organization (Delete this sub-organization). It must have no sub-organization of its own first. Deletion cannot be undone.
